Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort will soon be revealing a new appearance, improving guests’ experience and give a stylish upgrade to the settings. The internal soft refurbishment will start in June 2014 and will be completed by the end of August 2014 and will not disrupt the resort.

A variety of changes to the décor of the room with soft furnishings and subtle upholstery details creating a softer feel. Updated design elements include the use of cane weaving patterns in carpets, printed pictures of Mauritian life on cushions, travel quotes as artwork… A more contemporary conceptual feel is achieved through the use of neutral colours mixed with ribbed textures which will convey a calming elegance to the rooms complementing the darker colour code and African features found in public areas.

Other improvements will see a brand new contemporary beach front restaurant and bar, Infinity Blue. A revitalised new look will also be given to our Indian restaurant, Zafarani where a mix of old stones and vivid colours will create a warm and incredible atmosphere.

Last but not least, the creation of a dedicated bridal room within the 3000m2 Seven Colours Spa and a refreshing of the massage rooms and relaxation areas will be carried out.

Christine Dupont, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Heritage and Veranda Resorts states: “We are committed to improve our standards by frequent refurbishment to grow a sustainable business and build the ongoing confidence of our partners and strong levels of repeat business with our guests.”

Stay tuned and discover the reveal of the new decor over the next few months.

Heritage Resorts on the Domaine de Bel Ombre provides much more than accommodation. Spanning over 2,500 hectares, the Domaine de Bel Ombre is the perfect backdrop for the Dodo Trail. Various areas within the Domaine, such as the 1300 hectares Frederica Nature Reserve or the 5,000 sqm of spa, will allow participants to train for the race and rest, whilst their family enjoy the plethora of activities and services: : 12 restaurants, 8 bars, a beach club, a kite surf spot and – last but not least – an 18-hole championship Golf Course…

The Dodo Trail, an extraordinary human adventure

The Dodo Trail offers four unique and challenging trails for experienced runners as well as for beginners and families: Xtreme Dodo Trail, Ti Dodo Trail, Mini Dodo Trail and Dodo Fun Run.

The trail is a unique opportunity to discover the most beautiful landscapes of the southwest of Mauritius, such as the view on Benitiers island or the Black River Gorges’ National Park.

Not only is the Dodo Trail perfectly in line with the “nature” experience provided by Heritage Resorts, but the race also fits with Heritage Resorts’ commitment to protect and conserve our natural heritage. To achieve this commitment we have been collaborating with the Mauritius Wildlife Foundation to protect the endemic and indigenous flora and fauna and reforest the Frederica Nature Reserve, the use of natural products at the Seven Colours Spa, implementation of new techniques for an environmentally responsible golf course, setting up a glass recycling plant and longterm commitment in lagoon preservation in association with REEF, a local NGO focused on marine preservation.

On May 24, 2014, The C Beach Club will welcome the French singer Yoann Fréget, winner of season 2 of the French competition series The Voice.

Preceded by a seated dinner, the live concert of Yoann Fréget will combine the singer’s original compositions with a few cover songs. A Facebook competition has been launched to offer the lucky winner one night for two at the 5* hotel Heritage Le Telfair, a dinner for two at the C Beach Club followed by the concert, as well as the exciting opportunity to meet the singer after the show.

Yoann Fréget recently released his first album, “Quelques heures avec moi” (A few hours with me), which was met with great success. One of its tracks “Sauras-tu m’aimer” (Will you know how to love me) has been chosen for the original soundtrack of Christophe Gans’ latest movie, Beauty and the Beast, starring Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux.

The singer’s success is due to his incredible vocal performances during The Voice. The TV show is broadcasted on TF1 and it is currently airing its third season. The concept of the show is the following: a judging panel made up of four francophone artists (Garou, Florent Pagny, Jenifer and Mika) listen to contestants’ performances during blind auditions, choose singers to join their team and finally vote for the best singer at the end of the series.
