Starred Chef David Toutain Curates Heritage Le Château’s Summer Menu

Starred Chef David Toutain Curates Heritage Le Château’s Summer Menu

The Heritage mother brand encompasses a dozen restaurants spread across its two uber-luxurious hotels, Heritage Le Telfair and Heritage Awali. There are cuisines and menus for every palate, whether vegetarian, vegan, carnivorous, or flexitarian. The particularity of Heritage Le Château is that it is set on the large estate of Bel Ombre and not inside one of our hotels. Recently the old colonial home underwent major restoration works by Perrot & Richard, the architecture firm that also restored the Sainte Chapelle, the Grand Palais and the Comédie Française. With the château being restored to its former glory, it only made sense to curate a summer menu that reflects the exquisite beauty of the Château.

VLH: A Year at a Glance

What a year 2017 has been! As we start the New Year, it now seems like the right time to reflect back on 2017, a particularly eventful year for us. Between renovations and reopenings, international events and local programs, 2017 at Veranda Leisure & Hospitality was a year like no other—a year of consolidation, building on past experiences and a shared commitment to elevate our brand to greater heights. Let’s look back on the exceptional moments that set the course for an even more exceptional 2018.

Escape the Ordinary - Heritage Resorts’ 2017-2018 E-O-Y calendar

Escape the Ordinary - Heritage Resorts’ 2017-2018 E-O-Y calendar

As you know, Heritage Resorts has undergone some renovations and a rebranding exercise for certain of its components, namely the chateau, the nature reserve, and its focus on wellness. These changes reflect the group’s desire to strengthen the Heritage brand, and further merge its hospitality and leisure segments. In line with the feeling of renewal that permeates our hotels, our teams have conceived a festive and unique E-O-Y calendar, “Escape the Ordinary,” which reflects the brand’s revamped identity. We have devised a variety of events and experiences that we categorized, each with an overarching theme: In Style, Flavours, Mauritian Indulgence, Wellness Bliss, Happiness, Tee Time and The Great Outdoors. The idea is to delight guests of all ages no matter their differing interests.

Heritage Le Château - The Grand Unveiling

A château is a thing of dreams - it is a treasure trove of ancestral discoveries and retains a powerful imprint of history. Built over two centuries ago, the enchanting Heritage Le Château draws its heritage from the long-lost colonial era. Today, it still stands imperially in its distinguished grandeur, amid French formal gardens, embarking travelers on a magical journey through time. The Château has been masterfully reimagined to faithfully restore it to its former Anglo-Indian glory and personifies an eclectic revival of timeless ideals.

Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort reopened its doors on September 1st. The interiors, marrying classic pieces and architectural touches, will remain in touch with the hotel’s past. To celebrate its reopening and newly renovated suites, the Small Luxury Hotel of the World is collaborating with renowned French brand, Tartine & Chocolat, which embodies the timeless and chic (yet unpretentious) spirit of a small child’s universe (think stripes, pastel hues, creams and whites).

Empowering the community through CSR

Empowering the community through CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can take the form of money or charity events - but that isn’t enough. Veranda and Heritage Resorts’ passion for serving others extends far beyond the hotel walls, and is a direct reflection of what it stands for: compassion and inclusion. The resorts have taken it upon themselves to knit close ties with the community, all while breathing new life into its spirit.

A glimpse into Veranda Resorts

A glimpse into Veranda Resorts

Never let it be said that dreams cannot turn into reality. When the seeds of Veranda Bungalow Village were planted in 1982, the small family-run business’ desire was to simply present tourists a snapshot into the life of a local. Thirty-five years later, what was once a small-scale hotel is today celebrated as Veranda Leisure and Hospitality. Veranda Resorts, as part of the group, still retains the original stamp of authenticity: your home away from home, only Deep into Mauritius.

Heritage Le Telfair and Veranda Paul et Virginie reinvent themselves

Heritage Le Telfair and Veranda Paul et Virginie reinvent themselves

The ever-blooming Hospitality industry and a competitive landscape demand that hotels keep up with the times, all while preserving their hallmark. It may be a matter of adding seasonal dishes to a menu, designing a new concept, or changing the fabric of the sunbeds. It may also mean closing the hotel for a few months to fully revamp the interiors and shared spaces - this is the case of Heritage Le Telfair and Veranda Paul et Virginie, which will reopen in September (we are excited!)
