Heritage Le Telfair and Veranda Paul et Virginie reinvent themselves

The ever-blooming Hospitality industry and a competitive landscape demand that hotels keep up with the times, all while preserving their hallmark. It may be a matter of adding seasonal dishes to a menu, designing a new concept, or changing the fabric of the sunbeds. It may also mean closing the hotel for a few months to fully revamp the interiors and shared spaces – this is the case of Heritage Le Telfair and Veranda Paul et Virginie, which will reopen in September (we are excited!)

For 36 years, Veranda Resorts has been an institution along Mauritius’ fabled palm-studded coast. The challenge has always been to find novel but authentic ways to keep up with the island’s glimmering haul of seaside resorts. For instance, VLH created the first Mauritian spa line, Seven Colours Spa, used in all of their spas and other hotels as well.

New look for Veranda Paul et Virginie

Each year, the Veranda hotels welcome thousands of guests in their 5 hotels, encouraging travellers to go deep into Mauritius, far beyond the picture-perfect hotels. The hotels, small tropical havens set on the beach, are “home” to the intrepid travellers who have spent the day sampling steaming hot street fare and navigating local culture using the basics of Creole they learned that very morning at the hotel.

Discover the village on a tandem

The Veranda Paul et Virginie, set in a fishing village, is for those who are easily tempted by a tandem bike ride; in other words, it is a romantic, “Couples Only” gem of a hotel. From setting sail on a pirogue, a traditional wooden boat, to sharing a platter of fresh seafood around a bonfire, Veranda Paul et Virginie is a dreamy destination where one may reconnect, revive, refresh, and relax.

Breakfast all day in bed

These days, a sense of renewal floats in the air. The intimate address will be renovated in a way that blends a contemporary flair with its timeless charm. The renewed Paul et Virginie will boast a new infinity pool, freshened-up rooms and shared spaces, but also a wealth of new experiences destined for couples – duo massages on a floating deck, candlelit dinners for two on the beach, breakfast in bed at any time of day or night… Veranda Resorts is helping you write your own holiday story.

The timeless Heritage Le Telfair, an elegant five-star rooted in the island’s colonial era in terms of style, is being renovated as a swanky Golf & Wellness Resort. The Heritage brand promises privileged seclusion, flawless service, and manicured lawns… or rather greens. The hotel truly is the ultimate tropical escape with a hint of beachfront luxury.

Suites only

A new wellness pavilion

Cultivating balance and beauty has always been a part of the hotel’s DNA. A beautiful pavilion is being built in the luxuriant tropical gardens to welcome wellness gurus and those seeking peace (or simply some Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and meditation).

Le Palmier

The new Le Palmier restaurant

The lovely beach restaurant will be renewed to welcome more guests who may dine on fresh produce, tasty snacks and healthy dishes in a beach-vibe setting.

Night Markets of Bangkok

Gin’ja, the ravishing Asian restaurant brings a concept of Bangkok night market-style dining to its usual offering.

Service, above all

Superlative service at Heritage Le Telfair

Each suite will have its own butler, though guests may also consult the Concierge “clef d’or.” A dedicated and attentive beach service is provided as well (you quite literally never have to get up from your chaise longue).

During the hotel’s closing, the personnel will undergo an extensive training to prepare for the reopening of the two hotels’ grand doors.

The Veranda Paul et Virginie and the Heritage Le Telfair will reopen on September 1st. We can’t wait!
