Itinerary ideas for a stroll

Stroll in the village

The Veranda Paul et Virginie hotel now offers walking itineraries to its residents. Whether it is for the day or for a half day, the idea is to take clients beyond the island’s usual postcard-beauty. There is only one way to do that, and it is by adventuring out of the Edenic hotel to encounter the locals of the island, and its hidden spots.

A full day outing can include a visit to the Paille en Queue school (which takes in teenagers facing academic failure), the Body Bar (an atelier-boutique of artisanal soap), Studio 44 (artisanal glass creations), Paws (an NGO that rescues and shelters animals), the Labourdonnais nursery and orchard, the Pamplemousses Gardens, the Aventure du Sucre museum and to Linda’s (a cafe and restaurant).

If a couple opts for a half day excursion, the guests will encounter a tinsmith, visit a shoe clinic (a cobbler’s), a Hindu temple, the Goodlands bazaar, Historic Marine’s atelier and boutique, the Demeure de Saint-Antoine colonial home, the Paul and Virginie monument in Poudre d’Or… a lunch break is included as well.
