Heritage Golf Club : quoi de neuf pour 2019

Whether you’re a pro golfer or a novice, the Heritage Golf Club has an abundance of new offers, amenities and events in store for you in 2019. Here’s a quick glimpse of what’s coming up.

1. Book your tee-off online

Heritage Golf Club has now partnered with Golfscape, an online golf concierge platform that allows Heritage Resorts non-residents to book tee-offs on more than 100 golf courses worldwide. Gone are the days when you needed to be on-site to select a tee-off time and pay for your round – now, you can simply access the booking platform via the Heritage Golf Club or Golfscape websites, from any device (mobile, tablet or computer).

2. Get behind the wheel of a Golf Skate Caddy

Heritage Golf Club is the first club in Mauritius to offer this innovative new way of getting around the green. As an alternative to the traditional golf cart, the Golf Skate Caddy brings an element of playfulness to your rounds. If you think finding lost balls is a chore, the Golf Skate Caddy just might help you change your mind: it’s practical and easy to handle, suitable for players of all ages and doesn’t require any skateboarding skills to drive! It’s also a time-saver (reducing game times by up to 25%) because each player can go straight to his or her ball without being distracted by others’ games. And, as icing on the cake: because it is lighter, it does less damage to the green; is equipped with a removable seat that you can use as you wait your turn to play; and even comes with a cooler… all the better to keep you feeling fresh on the course!

3. Attend an international tournament

AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open 2017 at Heritage Resorts

The Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open is coming back to Heritage Golf Club from the 5th to the 8th of December 2019. This tournament, tri-sanctioned by the European, Asian and Sunshine Tours, is increasing popular with both the legends and the rising stars of golf. Don’t wait – book your holidays through your travel agency now, and come and watch some of the world’s greatest players compete.

4. Get advice from a pro

When they aren’t taking part in a tournament on the other side of the world, the Heritage Golf Club’s four ambassadors are in Mauritius giving demonstrations. Take advantage of these intimate “golf clinics” to get lots of advice from our pro players: German player Marcel Siem from the European Tour; renowned French golfer Romain Langasque; Clément Sordet, another Frenchman, who won a place on the European Tour in 2018; and Jaco van Zyl, a South African previously ranked among the wold’s 50 best players in the official rankings. Please ask golf staff for availability.

5. Train continuously

Enjoy personalised training with PGA-certified players thanks to our partnership with PROject GOLF academy, which is kicking off this year. If you started training with instructor Christian-Leslie Schanz during your Heritage Resorts vacation and would like to continue with his methods, the PROject GOLFacademy gives you access to like-minded instructors in Germany and Curacao. Several other partnerships with European instructors are in the works. Watch this space!

6. Take on big beasts

The Rogers Indian Ocean Amateur Golf Open will be held at the Heritage Golf Club from the 4th to the 6th of October this year. The tournament brings together the Indian Ocean’s best amateur players and allows local golfers to compete against the regional elite. It is also an opportunity for talented youngsters to play alongside more seasoned players, and perhaps to secure a place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

7. And, as a bonus, some great new partnerships!

We’ll be announcing two new projects in collaboration with golf champion Louis Oosthuizen at the BMW International Open in Germany in June this year. Louis enjoys a reputation as an internationally renowned golfer, with eight victories in the European Tour and a British Open to his credit. Though he’s ranked among the world’s top 30 players, he isn’t afraid to take on new challenges! Working alongside Peter Matkovich, he will help design our second 18-hole championship course. He’s also brought another of his dreams to life by producing a line of exceptional wines under the brand Louis57, in association with South African winemaker Jacques Borman.
