A new Pop-Up Moment for kids, a seamless Wi-Fi connection for all (and all over) and the renovation of the Veranda Paul et Virginie… Veranda Resorts has quite a few things going on in 2017! This post highlights these novelties and projects underway:

1. A new Pop-Up Moment

Candy Flodd moment

Do you recall the “One day. One setup. One feeling…”? Veranda Resorts’ Pop-Up Moment concept is back with a new theme. After Sunset Vibes and its Mauritian-style “apéro”, Coco’lidays for all the coconut devotees out there, and Love Me Tender with its romantic evenings, the Candy Floss cart makes an appearance in our hotels.

Candy Floss, known as barbe à papa (daddy’s beard) in French, is called “calamindas” in Mauritius. It’s a treat that played an essential role in childhoods here, an experience that Veranda Resorts wants to offer to its youngest residents by taking them “Deep into Mauritius.

The Candy Floss cart serves complimentary calamindas three times a week (from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at the Timomo mini-club at Veranda Palmar Beach; three times a week (from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) at Veranda Grand Baie; and once a week at Veranda Pointe aux Biches, during the Sunset Vibes Pop-Up Moment.

2. Full-coverage Wi-Fi

Full wifi coverage

The hotels Veranda Grand Baie, Veranda Pointe aux Biches and Veranda Palmar Beach are now equipped with free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel grounds, which include rooms and communal spaces. Clients of Veranda Paul et Virginie will also have access to full-coverage Wi-Fi when the hotel reopens (the hotel will be closing for renovations from June 1st to September 1st, 2017 – more information about this below.)

By offering free Wi-fi and a seamless connection throughout the hotel, Veranda Resorts offers its technology-savvy clientele a service that travellers nowadays rely on. The hotel hopes to generate social media content as well. Upon your arrival you may obtain the password at the reception.

3. Veranda Paul et Virginie undergoes renovations

Veranda Paul et Virginie Renovations 2017

The island’s most romantic hotel will temporarily close its doors from June 1st to September 1st for some renovation work. The structural renovation work includes communal spaces, pools and rooms. Moreover, Veranda Paul et Virginie will transition from being “Adults only” to “Couples only” in order to emphasize that getaway feeling couples tend to seek. An idyllic setting and tailored experiences will add to its cachet.

This concept is geared toward couples at the start of married life, couples who wish to create meaningful memories to take back. It is also for couples who’ve been together a long time and want to escape their daily routine or the somewhat more stressful city life, and reconnect with each other. The rooms will be redesigned so as to be more sophisticated and contemporary. However, they won’t lose any of their cosiness.
